
COZAD, Neb. — Cozad launches its annual Haydays Festival Thursday, Sept. 4, with “Night at the Museum” and the crowning of the 4th and 5th grade Little Miss Haydays and Mr. Haymaker at Cozad Elementary. Community leaders will also judge the Window Decorating Contest.
Friday features a Cozad Alumni 4-person golf scramble at Cozad Country Club and downtown carnival rides from 4 p.m. to midnight. The Grand Generation Center hosts a Sloppy Joe feed and evening bingo.
Saturday brings a full day of events, beginning with a pancake feed at Cozad Christian Church and the Haymarket in the Park at Veterans Memorial Park. The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m., followed by food, games, kids pedal tractor pulls, greased pig wrestling, and water fights hosted by the Cozad Fire Department. Carnival rides run downtown all day.
Sunday wraps up with live music from the Kyle Sayler Band, the final day of carnival fun, and a bicycle drawing from the Cozad Community Leaders.
The festival celebrates local traditions, offering food, music, and family-friendly entertainment for residents and visitors.
