Stacey Schad, age 60, died at her home in Frederick, Colorado, January 5, 2022, after experiencing medical complications.

Stacey was born to Murray and Maris Schad on November 9, 1961, in North Platte, NE. She graduated from North Platte High School with the Class of 1980 where she played softball and was a cheerleader. She continued her education at North Platte Community College and Lincoln School of Commerce earning a Medical Assistant certification.

Stacey moved to Colorado in 1984. She was an executive assistant for the Ball Jar Corporation for several years, was a secretary at Life Care, and following in her dad’s footsteps, launched a 30 year career in Real Estate in the Boulder, Lafayette and Frederick, CO areas. She also enjoyed employment as a Home Depot Associate.

She loved healthy cooking, tropical travel, lake life and jet skiing, and her yellow labs, Toby and Rocko. Her summer “Chick Trip” weekends with her high school friends, Trudy, Rene, Deb, Dawn, & Kellona, were a highlight every summer.

A thoughtful, loving and caring soul, she thrived on helping people. Every Thanksgiving she would stay an extra day to help decorate her parents’ home for Christmas, then stay after the holiday to help take the decorations down. This past Christmas Stacey was in the hospital and couldn’t make it to North Platte to help as she always did.

She was preceded in death by her father, Murray; her grandparents, Cecil and Marcene Collins of Iowa, AF and Marvel Schad North Platte. Missing her bright smile and beautiful green eyes are her mother, Maris of North Platte; brother, Steve, of Omaha; and nephew, Dr. Tate (Rachel) Schad, of Kansas City, MO; aunts, Jan Elledge of Ames, IA, and Janice Schad, of North Platte. Her many cousins, friends, and classmates also mourn her untimely passing.

Stacey chose cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Memorials may be directed to one of Stacey's favorite causes: WildAnimalSanctuary.org of Colorado. Odean Colonial Chapel at C and Sycamore is assisting with arrangements.
