NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — North Platte Community College added its third commit of the offseason over the weekend with the signing of Freshman Guard/Forward Winston Allen.
Allen joins the Knights from Cowley College, which finished last season ranked No. 5 in the NJCAA Division I poll. In 25 games, Allen averaged 5.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.
A versatile player, Allen is expected to bolster a frontcourt led by returning big men Daniel Nwauzu and Joseph Badejo.
Last month, North Platte also secured a commitment from Deandre Nichols, a guard from Grandview High School (Mo.). Nichols averaged 10.2 points per game in 21 appearances for the Bulldogs last season.
Nichols joins a deep backcourt that includes returning players Sedrick Nari, Justus Michael and Dennis Rocha — who is expected back from injury — as well as incoming freshman John Sims IV from Omaha Westview.
