
Connie Jean Jurgens, 69, of North Platte, passed away peacefully at her home on January 9, 2026.
Connie was born on March 30, 1956, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Edward Lester Jorgensen Jr. and Marjorie Lenora Johnsen. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1974, where she was active in many activities. Connie was a cheerleader, a member of the Girls Athletic Association, Pep Club, choir, Powderpuff football, and Tri Hi Y (Christian Association), and served as student manager for track. She loved playing softball and proudly rooted for the North Platte Bulldogs, remaining a loyal fan throughout her life. Connie spent many years managing the local Diet Center, then spent 16 years as a leading marketing sales rep. for Eagle Communication. She made many great lifelong friends thought her career.
Connie was as selfless as they come, always making sure everyone around her was happy and had what they needed. She loved sports and spent much of her life traveling from game to game, faithfully supporting her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her smile could light up any room, and she had a way of making everyone’s day brighter. Connie was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
She is joyfully reunited with the love of her life, her husband Jeff, who preceded her in death nearly 18 years ago.
Survivors include her daughter, Jamie (Greg) Hernandez of North Platte, Nebraska; her sons, Jason (Juli) Jurgens of Staten Island, New York, and Joel (Rhiannon) Jurgens of Lincoln, Nebraska; her sister, Linda (Dale) Ritzen; her brother, Tim (Lori) Jorgensen; her sister-in-law, Nancy Evarts; and her brother-in-law, Tom Jurgens. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored: Braiden and Jaylan Ruffin; Ryder and Janaya Jurgens; Ethan, Eli, Maddux, and Jeter Hernandez; and Ava, Jayda, Charlotte, and Jace Jurgens; along with many nieces, nephews, and amazing friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jeff; her granddaughter, Lily Jo Jurgens; her brothers-in-laws, Doug Jurgens Jr. and Denny Evarts; her nephew, Rick Evarts; great-nephew, Logan Fosbinder-Evarts; and great-niece, Jessa Jo Jurgens.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Carpenter Memorial Gardens, with Job Vigil officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from noon to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements
