Melvin Firman Robinson, 72, of North Platte, passed away December 30, 2023 at Great Plains Health. He was born February 5, 1951 to Melvin Sr. and Ruby (Radford) Robinson in St. Louis, MO.
Melvin grew up in Cahokia, IL. He enlisted in the United States Army and served stateside. In 1971, Melvin married Alice Diane Hollingshead and to this union a daughter, Denise, was born in 1972. After his discharge, Melvin traveled all across the United States on his bicycle. He enjoyed meeting new people on his travels and working jobs as he went. He continued the traveling in later years, but in a van he modified to include a sleeping area and tub for convenience. Melvin settled in North Platte Nebraska in 2002 and built a life there until his passing in 2023.
Survivors include daughter, Denise Bradshaw of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Tondarae, Robi, Bryce, and Nic; great grandchild, Riley; sister, Melody Cousey of Imperial, MO; nieces and nephews, Tina (Don) Sherrill, Scott (Carla) Keys, Sheila (Tracy) Jones, Jim (Nicole) Keys; numerous other family members and friends.
Melvin was preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Ruby; sister, Peggy Scott; nephew Kristen Keys.

Services will be held 12:30 P.M., Friday, January 12, 2024 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be held Noon-5:00 P.M., Thursday, January 11, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
