
Rick Evarts, 54, of Cozad, NE passed away peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Cozad Community Hospital.
He was born January 10, 1967 in North Platte, NE to Dennis R. and Nancy (Jurgens) Evarts. Growing up in North Platte he graduated in 1985 from North Platte High School, and went on to work for many years with the Union Pacific Railroad as an Engineer.
Rick loved camping, fishing, boating, and all kinds of animals especially his pet dogs. He was an avid NE Husker sports fan. He was always very neat and tidy and liked everything in its place around his home. Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His granddaughters were the “light of his life” and he loved spending time with them.
Surviving are his mother, Nancy Evarts of North Platte; daughter, Rikki Lieberth (Dylan) of Springfield; son, Riley Evarts of North Platte; grand-daughters, Alayna and Stella; brother, Gregg Evarts (Deanne) of North Platte; sister, Jodi Evarts Noseep (Doug) of Billings, Montana; nieces and nephews, Baylee and Brody Evarts, Jetta Fosbinder-Evarts, Makenzie, Jaxson, Kennedie and Lexie Noseep; aunt, Connie Jurgens of North Platte; former spouse, Jodi Bargell Evarts of North Platte; and several other special aunts, uncles and close friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Dennis; uncle, Jeff; and nephew, Logan.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating Burial will be private. The book will be available for signing on Thursday, November 4th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
