A friendly competition with a big impact is coming to the community this weekend as “The Great Kibble Clash” brings together animal advocates for a pet food drive and fundraiser focused on helping local pets and supporting spay and neuter efforts.

The event will take place this Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., inviting residents to contribute donations while cheering on two teams working toward the same goal: improving the lives of animals in the area.

The fundraiser will feature a lighthearted showdown between Team Family-Owned Pets and Team Feral Cats, also known as TNR, which stands for Trap-Neuter-Return. While the teams may be competing, both are working to support animals in need across the community.

Team Family-Owned Pets is focused on helping local dogs and cats by collecting pet food and monetary donations, assisting families who may be struggling to care for their animals, and promoting the importance of spay and neuter services.

Meanwhile, Team Feral Cats (TNR) is dedicated to helping community cats through efforts that include funding Trap-Neuter-Return programs, managing cat populations in a humane way, and supporting ongoing colony care.

Organizers say the goal of the event is simple: fight hunger among pets while also investing in long-term solutions like spay and neuter programs that help reduce overpopulation and improve animal welfare.

Community members are encouraged to bring unopened pet food, either dry or canned, to donate during the event. All proceeds will go toward supporting local spay and neuter efforts.

Donations can be dropped off along East C Street between Jeffers and Dewey, with participants asked to enter from Dewey Street and follow posted signs.

With a mix of community spirit and a shared mission, The Great Kibble Clash aims to make a meaningful difference for pets and the people who care for them.
