
Donald W. Haffner, age 81, passed away on may 10, 2021 in his home in North Platte, Nebraska. He was born on April 3, 1940 to Fred and Dorothy Haffner in Ione, Colorado. Don graduated from High School in 1959 from Hudson, Colorado.
He was united in marriage to Wanda Parker on March 17, 1964 in Imperial, Nebraska. To this union, four children were born: Debbie, Doug, Dawnette, and David.
don and his adopted father, Walter, raised sugar beets in Hudson, Colorado until the family moved to Hayes County, Nebraska in 1975, joining the farming operation of James & Alice Parker. He coninued to operate and grow the family farm. Farming was his passion. Don never really retired in his mind. He left the farm when Alzheimer's started effecting his health.
He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1992.
Don is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughters, Debbie (Maury) Cox of Hayes Center, NE and Dawnette (Greg) Hilton of Hershey, NE; his son, Dough (Susanna) Haffner of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren, Nick, Alicea, Caleb, and Eli; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Cliff Haffner of Hudson, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Dorothy Haffner; his adoptive father, Walter Haffner; infant son, David; infant twin brother, Ronald; and a brother, Cliff Haffner of Hudson, CO.
A private burial has taken place at the Hayes Center Cemetery.
