David Allen Werner, age 70, of Palisade, NE passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home in Palisade.
David was born October 11, 1951 in Carroll, IA to parents Arthur William and Rose Margaret (Anderson) Werner. He was one of five children. David attended school in Salt Lake City, UT, graduating from high school in 1969.
Following high school, David enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1973.
David married Judy (Conley) Werner and was a father to three children: William, Sheryl Anne and Kristi. He enjoyed racing, both watching and participating. He never missed a televised NASCAR race. Over the years he worked as a truck driver and was a mechanic. David’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Pete; and two sisters.
Those left to celebrate his life include his children, William and wife Brook Werner of Palisade, Sheryl Anne Werner and Kristi and husband Kia Brookshier, both of Oregon; ex wife, Judy Werner of Palisade; sister, Barbara (Joe) Claus of Alice, TX; and grandchildren, Noah, Severine, Mackenzie, Kelton, Michael, McKenna, Kianna.
A memorial service will be held on Friday August 19, 2022 at 10:00am at the Palisade United Methodist Church, 103 North Powell Street, Palisade NE 69040.
