A North Platte man was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a domestic disturbance.

At around 3:27 p.m., officers with the North Platte Police Department responded to the report of an assault in the 1000 block of West 10th Street.

According to police, officers spoke with a female subject who reported that she had been involved in a verbal argument with 18-year-old Joshua Thiem that quickly turned physical.

Officer Beth Kerr says the woman told officers that, while she was holding her baby, Thiem attacked her and began hitting her and throwing electronics at her.

Thiem had left the area but was soon located and arrested on suspicion of 3rd-degree domestic assault and child abuse.

Thiem was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and jailed.
