UNDATED (AP) — Pittsburgh and Penn State will meet for the 100th time in the Keystone State Clash. Pitt hasn't won in Happy Valley since 1988. The Nittany Lions are going for their third win in a row in the rivalry. Iowa will be trying for its fifth straight win over Iowa State in the Cy-Hawk Series. Northern Illinois could pose problems for Nebraska. Purdue has questions at quarterback entering its home game against TCU.


SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Lawmakers have sent the governor a bill to allow athletes at California colleges to hire agents and sign endorsement deals. It sets up a confrontation with the NCAA that could jeopardize the athletic futures of powerhouse programs like USC, UCLA and Stanford. The NCAA's Board of Governors is urging Gov. Gavin Newsom not to sign the legislation.


SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) — Former University of Arkansas, University of Michigan and NFL quarterback Ryan Mallett has been arrested in northwest Arkansas on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Springdale police Lt. Jeff Taylor says 31-year-old Ryan Mallett was arrested Tuesday following a two-vehicle collision. Mallett spent seven seasons in the NFL with New England, Houston and Baltimore. He played in a total of 21 games, starting six for the Texans and two for the Ravens. He had nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
