North Platte, Ne - Severe thunderstorms are likely as early as late afternoon Monday but more probable in the evening hours for much of southwest Nebraska according to the National Weather Service at Lee Bird Field in North Platte.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for areas generally south of Highway 92 and west of Highway 183. Large hail and damaging winds, some significant at 2"+ diameter and 75+ mph respectively, are the main concerns though a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
