PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) - A driver accused of fatally injuring a 10-year-old girl in a suburban Omaha crosswalk has surrendered.

Sarpy County Jail records say 19-year-old Masey Lawrence turned herself in Friday morning to face charges of vehicular homicide, speeding and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. County court records don't list the name of an attorney who could comment for her. She was released later in the day.

Authorities say Lawrence struck Abby Whitford on Aug. 20 in downtown Papillion as Abby and her brother, Ben, headed for a nearby library. He was not injured. She died two days later.
