Julaine Marie Thomsen (1928 - 2019)

Julaine Marie Thomsen, age 91, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Linden Court in North Platte.

Julaine was born on April 12, 2019 to Earl and Sophia Anna (Blum) Foster at Harvard, Nebraska.  Her family moved to North Platte when she was 7 years old and she went on to graduated from North Platte High School in 1946.

On November 2, 1947, Julaine was united in marriage to Marlyn LeRoy 'Marty' Thomsen in North Platte.  The couple was married for just over 50 years when Marty passed away in 1997.

Marty and Julaine started out in North Platte, moved to Hayes County in Nebraska in 1953, returned to North Platte in 1957, then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1980.  Julaine eventually came back to North Platte in 2000.

Along with caring for her family, Julaine worked for Social Security starting in 1962 and retiring in 1987 after 26 years of service.  She was a member of First Christian Church, Moose and Eagle Auxiliaries, and the Newcomers Club.  Julaine liked playing cards and was in several different bridge and card clubs.  She also enjoyed helping others by being a volunteer at the hospital gift shop and the Lincoln County Historical Museum.  Julaine never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

Along with her husband, Marty, Julaine was preceded in death by their youngest son, Tim; her parents, Earl and Sophia Foster; her brother, Vaughn Foster; and a sister, Dorthy 'Dotte' Anderson.

Survivors include her son, Toby (Niesa) Thomsen of North Platte; her daughers, Kris (Paul) Goldman of Aurora, Colorado, Kerry (Mark) Morrison of Littleton, Colorado, and Kelle (Donald) Stock of Rabun Gap, Georgia; grandkids Ross Thomsen, Michael Maxwell, Jason (Megan) Thomsen, Whitney Thomsen, Kim Thomsen, Sara Maxwell, Nikki (Terry) Covera, Stacie Easton and Shelly (Chris) Mackintosh; many great-grandchildren and a great great-granddaughter; as well as other family.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte with Pastor Clint Walker officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte.  Visitation will be on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial.

Terrance Jean 'Terry' Tatman  (1933 - 2019)

Terrance Jean 'Terry' Tatman, age 86, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at Centennial Court Retirement Village in North Platte on Friday, December 13, 2019.

Terry was born on September 16, 1933 to Harold Jay, Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Hart) Tatman at Stapleton, Nebraska and grew up on a farm near Pleasanton, Nebraska.  He graduated from Pleasanton High School and then farmed and worked for a trailer manufacturing business, building mobile homes in Kearney,  Nebraska.  After moving to North Platte, Nebraska, Terry worked construction with his family, then partnered with JR Keslar, forming Tatman-Keslar Construction Company.  He went on to own Terry's Construction until retiring in the late '90's.

On December 27, 1953, Terry married Marlene Joyce Bedke in Kearney, Nebraska.  They had four children and lived in Minden, Kearney and Cozad in  Nebraska before settling in North Platte.  Terry was a member of First Christian Church and North Platte Home Builders Association.

After retiring, he started doing stained glass projects and worked for Lake Maloney Golf Course.  When his kids were young, Terry coached Little League Baseball and when he had grandkids, he taught them how to golf, which he really enjoyed.  Terry loved his family and liked spending time with them gardening and golfing.  He will be remembered for his knack of giving people a bad time and nicknames.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene of North Platte; his children, Ronald (Glenda) Tatman of Hayden, Idaho, Linda (Lew) Champ of Sterling, Colorado, Steve (Dana) Tatman of Caldwell, Idaho, and Scott (Suzette) Tatman of North Platte; grandchildren, Boni Jackson, Luke Tatman, Craig Tatman, Teri Sue Hoeksema, Josh Wietzel, Shaye Champ Correll, Chelsea Champ Lopez, Tyler Tatman, Mataya Belka, Shayla Paulman, and Chesney Tatman; 16 great-grandchildren and a great great grandson; brother Larry (Joyce) Tatman of North Platte and Fred (Carol) Tatman of Springdale, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Sue Tatman of North Platte and Margaret Bedke of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Sam (Cindy) Bedke of North Platte; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, Sr. and Dorothy; brothers Harold, Jerry and Ronnie Tatman; and a great-grandson, Jacob.

Cremation was chosen.  Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at First Christian Church with Job vigil officiating.  the memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials are suggested to Lake Maloney Golf Club.
