Knights sign Maywood - Hayes Center middle hitter

When Avery Johnson is on the attack, opponents be weary. This 5'10 middle hitter out of Maywood-Hayes center may speak softly but she carries a pretty big stick.

As a senior for the Wolves she was second on the team with 269 kills, and first on the team with a 41.2 Kill percentage. She helped lead the squad to a 27-3 season that ended in the district finals.

She's excited to join a Knights squad who has been Region IX champs two years in a row but hasnt been able to solve District G play yet. Avery thinks she can help get the team over the hump.

Coach Alexa McCall has had her eye on Johnson since a summer camp and was excited by her tryout:

Knights volleyball has added three girls so far, Allie Schneider a setter and right-side hitter from Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family and Madi Neely, a middle hitter from Broken Bow.
