Substitute teachers for North Platte Public Schools will get more money after the North Platte Public Schools Board of Education approved an increase in pay.
The School Board voted in favor to raise the substitute teacher rate to $130 day ($65.00 half-day) for short term assignments (1-10 days for the same teacher or a single day for multiple teachers). Long term substitute rates will be assignments for 11 days or more for the same teacher at a rate of 1/185th of base teacher pay that is currently $200 per day for 2019-2020.
These rates will be in effect beginning with time worked in January that will be paid on February 20th.
Previously, short term substitutes were paid $120.00/day ($60 for half-day) and long term subs received $150/day.
