Rhonda Lee Messersmith, age 83, died on January 18, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.  She was born on May 11, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Allen and Helen (Nauerth) Conyers.

Rhonda married Robert Lee Messersmith on August 3, 1967 in Curtis, Nebraska.

Rhonda worked as a secretary for Snell Services for 30 years until her retirement in 2010.  She loved doing crossword puzzles, reading and music.  Rhonda directed Maxwell's First Baptist Church Choir for 18 years.

Survivors include her husband, Bob of North Platte; her sister, Sandra Gordon of Indianapolis, Indiana; nephews, Dave (Kate) Gordon, Nathan (Melissa) Gordon, Chris (Susie) Gordon, Tony (Holly) Gordon, and David (Susanne) Conyers; nieces, Laura (Russ) Carr and Lisa (Joe) Rodgers; sister-in-law Sherry Conyers; brother-in-law Dick Messersmith; many great nephews, nieces and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ed Conyers; and a nephew, Jeff Conyers.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist church Choir and online condolences may be left at carpentermemorial.com.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Maxwell, Nebraska with Pastor Tim Lyzenga presiding.  Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.  Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Richard "Rick" Earhart  (1947 - 2020)

Richard "Rick" Earhart, age 72, of Moorefield, Nebraska, died January 17, 2020 of natural causes at his home in Moorefield, Nebraska.

Rick was born on August 9, 1947 at home in Moorefield, Nebraska to Leonard "Neil" and Carrie (Fenton) Earhart.  He grew up in Moorefield and attended grade school there.  He attended and graduated High School in Farnam, Nebraska.  Following High School, Rick entered the U.S. Navy where he served his country for four years.  Following his time in the Navy, he moved back to Frontier County, Nebraska living in Eustis, Maywood and Stockville before remodeling and moving back to his childhood home in Moorefield.

Rick married Gladys Crawford in 1971.  He worked for Frontier County Roads Department for many years where he took great pride in the roads he cared for.  He truly enjoyed grading roads and prided himself to make them the best they could be.  Rick was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.  If he didn't have a tool for something, he would just make one.  Rick enjoyed mowing and working on small engines.  He didn't like to ask for help and would find a way to do projects by himself.  Rick enjoyed fishing, even when they weren't biting.

He is survived by his son Scott (Amber) Earhart of Kearney, Nebraska; his daughter Darla (Steve) Walther of Stockville Nebraska; four grandchildren Jordan, Jace, Jade and Jessi; great-granddaughter Rayleigh; four siblings Linda (Burt) Knepp of North Platte, Nebraska, Roger (Juanita) Earhart of Eustis, Nebraska, Donnie Earhart of Lexington, Nebraska, and Kathy (James) Moore of Gibbon, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Landy Earhart and Tony Earhart.

Funeral services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 Tenth Street, Gothenburg, Nebraska on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in the Moorefield Cemetery, Moorefield, Nebraska.
