North Platte, Neb. - The City of North Platte is preparing for the Downtown Parade of Lights on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. Officials are asking residents to clear all cars from Dewey Street between 4th and 6th Streets by 4 p.m. to give crews enough time to set up barricades safely.

This year, barricades will be moved back about 8 feet on both sides of the street, improving overall safety. Police will be on hand to ensure any remaining vehicles are removed from the street before the parade starts.

Mayor Brandon Kelliher also shared that attendees can expect plenty of holiday fun, including candy thrown safely over the barriers by parade ambassadors.
