North Platte woman sentenced for possession of meth with intent to deliver

United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Sarah Waugh, 30, of North Platte, Nebraska, was sentenced today to 37 months in prison by United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. There is no parole in the federal system. Following her release from prison, Waugh will serve three years of supervised release.

On March 12, 2019, officers of the North Platte Police Department conducted a trash pull from Waugh’s residence in North Platte. Information through Crime Stoppers indicated the occupant, Waugh, was selling large amounts of methamphetamine from her home. In the trash, officers found an empty bag with trace amounts of methamphetamine. Officers then obtained a search warrant.

On March 13, 2019, officers served the search warrant on the residence.  Waugh was inside the residence.  Inside the house was approximately 47.6 grams of methamphetamine.

This case was investigated by the North Platte Police Department and the CODE Drug Task Force.
