George O. Davis (1931-2020

     George O. Davis, formerly of Cave Springs, Arkansas, died on February 10, 2020 at Maples-Har-Bar Meadows in Springdale Arkansas at the age of 88 years and 11 months.  He was born on March 10, 1931 in Brule, Nebraska to the late George O'Brien and Hester Lucy (Butterfield) Davis.
     George graduated from the Brule High School in 1948.  George married Mary Jane Drost, mother of his nine children, on July 20, 1950.  He was a master carpenter.  He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, active in Catholic Cursillo, 47 years of sobriety, and helped many other alcoholics achieve sobriety.
     George is survived by his nine children, Scott (Marcy) Davis, Shanny Davis, Chris (Leasa) Davis, Linda Roggow, Marty (Donna) Davis, Tricia (Ted) Ferguson, Michael (Joan) Davis, Kelly (Marianne) Davis, and Andy (Angela) Davis and their mother, Janie Davis; nephews and niece Scott, Mike and Stephen (Sharon) Stafford and Lise (Bryon) Russ; 28 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; along with numerous nieces and nephews.  George is also survived by Marie Davis, whom he married on December 25, 1987 and her children, Eddie Bowers and Christine Craig.
     George was preceded in death by his only sister, Beth Marie Stafford; son-in-law, Dwight Roggow; and a granddaughter, Leslie Davis.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Mountain Time on February 28, 2020 preceded by a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Mountain time at All Saints Catholic Church in Hyannis, Nebraska with the Reverends Stephen Deaver, Vijumon Choorackal, and Deacon Michael Davis officiating.  Christian burial of cremated remains will follow at the Ashby Cemetery in Ashby, Nebraska.  Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home at 421 West 4th Street in North Platte, Nebraska, which is assisting the family with arrangements.
