NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A 32-year-old North Platte man was arrested Wednesday evening on allegations of domestic violence.
According to North Platte police, at around 6:33 p.m., officers responded to the report of an assault in the 900 block of West 11th Street.
Police say officers arrived and met with a female who reported that she and Jeffrey Cooper had been involved in an argument.
During the argument, the victim told officers that Cooper had placed his arms around her neck. The victim stated to police that Cooper began applying pressure and cut of her airway for a couple of seconds.
Police say the victim stated that Cooper then let her go and she was able to contact law enforcement.
Following further investigation, officers determined that there was probable cause to arrest Cooper on suspicion of 3rd-degree domestic assault and strangulation.
Cooper was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and jailed pending an appearance in County Court.
