Police say they believe foul play was involved in the death of a woman whose body was found floating in a pond near North Platte.
On the morning of March 3, 2020, officers responded to the report of a possible drowning in a pond located in the 3000 block of East State Farm Road, just southeast of North Platte.
Officers arrived and found a deceased female.
According to Deputy Chief of Police Steve Reeves, the investigation has led authorities to believe the woman died as the result of a homicide.
Police say an autopsy report on the woman is not expected to be returned until early next week. Police say the victim has not been identified.
The investigation is ongoing and police say more information may become available upon the return of the autopsy report and further investigation.
