NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-The North Platte Fire Department is continuing to provide the city with emergency services amid the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
Officials say they are, "continuing to provide all emergency services that our citizens expect and deserve."
The fire department is asking residents to check with their primary care physician regarding flu-like symptoms and the need for ambulance transport prior to calling 911.
Firefighters and paramedics are also taking additional steps based on caller information to, "provide the greatest level of protection for responders and our patients."
Officials urge residents not to hesitate to call 911 if you are experiencing an emergency.
