NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-The first travel-related case of COVID-19 was identified in Lincoln County. The individual is a male in his 50s who recently returned from a cruise and had traveled in California. He currently is self-isolating at home.
“We need to be extra vigilant and stay home if we’re experiencing any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses including fever, cough, and shortness of breath,” said Shannon Vanderheiden executive director of WCDHD.
WCDHD is currently investigating the situation and is in the process of identifying close contacts to help reduce further spread. WCDHD continues to plan with their Public Health Command Center (PHCC).
