
NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted a man at a local park.
According to North Platte police, on March 22, at around 2:12 p.m., officers responded to Memorial Park for a physical disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the alleged male victim and several witnesses. Police say the victim stated he was approached by 30-year-old Luke Ressegieu.
Police say the man stated that Ressegieu began yelling at him and started to physically assault him. The victim advised that during the assault, Ressegieu placed him in a chokehold, which caused difficulty breathing. The altercation was stopped by another citizen.
Police say the victim and witnesses indicated that the assault by Ressegieu was unprovoked. The victim had minor injuries consistent with what was told to officers.
Police say Ressegieu was quickly located in the area and placed under arrested on suspicion of 3rd-degree assault and strangulation.
Additionally, police say Ressegieu had two active Lincoln County Warrants.
Ressegieu was incarcerated at the Lincoln County Jail, pending an appearance in County Court.
