A 35-year-old North Platte man was arrested following a domestic violence investigation.

On March 26, 2020, officers responded to the report of a physical disturbance in the 400 block of South Poplar Street.

Officers arrived and made contact with Charles Gill and a female.

Officers say they observed injuries to the female's neck and summoned North Platte Fire and Rescue who transported her to the Great Plains Health for treatment.

Officers investigated, but say they were unable to determine exactly what had happened.

Upon further investigation, the alleged female victim told officers that she and Gill had gotten into an argument. Police say the female stated that Gill pushed her to the ground, causing her to strike her head, then got on top of her and put his hands around her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe.

The female told officers that she was eventually able to get up and contact law enforcement.

According to police, officers determined that there was probable cause to arrest Gill on suspicion of 3rd-degree domestic assault and felony assault by strangulation.

Officers located Gill on April 4 and placed him under arrest.

Gill was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and jailed pending an appearance in County Court.
