Two Ex-Husker football players expelled from school

A violation of the schools sexual misconduct policy lead to the suspension and subsequent expulsion for former Cornhusker players Katerian LeGrone and Andre Hunt.

The two players were the focus of an investigation by the school back in November and December of 2019. The results of the investigation lead to the recommendation that the two students be put on a two and half year suspension.

The university conduct board overturned the suspension and went ahead with the expulsion effective April 3rd.

During the course of the investigation, evidence was found that Andre Hunt touched a female student and forced oral sex without her consent. Both men then were found to have sex with the female student without her consent.

The woman provided text messages with others that she sent immediately following the event. In those text messages, she alleged that she had been raped.

Both men have been charged with first-degree sexual assault according to Lincoln police. They both await hearings on the matter. Hunt was granted a continuance until May. LeGrone was to have a hearing in June but it is uncertain with the current coronavirus threat if that hearing will continue on time.

Both men had previously entered the NCAA transfer portal signaling their intent to continue playing at a college level. As of this writing, both players are still in the portal signaling that they have yet to be picked up by a program.
