News Release
Due to the generous support provided by the Buffett Early Childhood Fund, we are pleased to announce the formation of the Nebraska Child Care Provider Relief Fund. Nebraska Children and Families Foundation (NCFF) and Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative (NECC) worked together to establish this fund to provide Nebraska-licensed child care programs with a one-time immediate award to ensure the continuity of child care operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The relief fund will award emergency funds to Nebraska licensed family and center-based child care programs that are open and currently serving families in areas of the state that have partnering relationships with NCFF or NECC initiatives. Together, our goal is to recognize the essential role child care professionals play in helping communities weather this crisis and to ease the burden so that programs can focus on caring for children and families.
Funds, based on availability, will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 (one thousand dollars) per applicant. The applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs that are serving children of essential workers and/or accept subsidy will be prioritized in the selection process. We will continue to review applications if, at some point, additional funds become available.
