Pursuit in Kearney reaches speeds of 120 mph, 3 arrested

Kearney, Neb.-A pursuit in Kearney that reached speeds of 120 mph ended with the arrest of three individuals.

According to Kearney police, officers identified a grey 2019 Chrysler 300 with Illinois license plates at the intersection of 21st Street and 2nd Avenue.

Police say the vehicle and the occupants of the vehicle matched the descriptions given after counterfeit currency was passed at multiple Kearney businesses.

According to police, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled and led police on a pursuit that lasted around ten minutes and reached speeds of 120 mph.

The pursuit finally came to an end east of Kearney near Shelton Road and Highway 30, after police successfully deployed spike strips.

The three occupants fled on foot but were taken into custody a short time later.

Police say, three individuals, the driver Danielle Thomas and two passengers, Domonique Dukes and Ja Quan Rogers, we place under arrest and transported to the Buffalo County Detention Center where they are being held on suspicion of criminal possession of a forged instrument, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and obstruction of an officer.

Kearney police were assisted by the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, Shelton Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol.

No injuries were reported.
