
John Manuel Vargas, age 62, of North Platte, died at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
John was born December 20, 1957, to Manuel, Jr. and Delphia (Bowen) Vargas at North Platte where he grew up. After his schooling, John went to work at the Holiday Inn (which later became Quality Inn) and worked there until retiring in 2018.
John married Sue Anderson, they had five children and later divorced. In 2006 he met Brenda Wilson and they have been together ever since.
John enjoyed listening to country music, watching TV and relaxing at home. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Delphia; son, Michael Vargas; and sister, Connie Vargas.
John leaves behind his companion, Brenda Wilson, of North Platte; children, Steven Vargas, Phillip (Clarissa) Vargas and Ricky Vargas, all of North Platte, and Angie (Justin) Thompson, of Ansley; brother, Tony Vargas, of Topeka, KS; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild; his nephew; and other family.
Cremation has been chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
