The National Scholastic Press Association announced it's Best of Show winners today. Your North Platte Bulldogger newspaper placed third in the broadsheet newspaper category. This award showcases the publication as a whole: story ideas, journalistic writing, design, advertising, flow and teamwork. Please congratulate any newspaper students you know. It's a big deal! Last year, the Bulldogger staff decided to change their format from a tabloid to a broadsheet so they could have more design freedom. It's really taken off!

Fun fact: Did you know that Layout Editor Sophia Walsh cut out the front-page faces by hand, glued them together, hand-drew a background, then digitized the pieces to place them on the page? Yup. Amazing.
