NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-Officials with the West Central District Health Department (WCDHD) updated the public on testing numbers and positive cases in their service area on Monday.
During the Public Health Command Center's daily update, WCDHD officials reported that 461 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in their six-county service area with 18 tests being returned positive, or four percent of the tests.
WCDHD says all 18 positive cases have been Lincoln County Residents.
Officials say one person is recovering from the virus in the hospital.
The public was urged to continue to follow state and federal guidelines including Governor Pete Ricketts' "Six Rules to Keep Nebraska Healthy."
Governor Ricketts announced that some restrictions pertaining to elective surgeries will be lifted statewide on May 4. This includes dental, medical and veterinary procedures.
Great Plains Health officials said there should be antibody testing available sometime next week. The testing will be done at the recommendation of your primary care physician. Guidelines for the testing will be more clear next week.
