
NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-North Platte High School journalism students earned six medals at the Class A Nebraska State Activities Association (NSAA) State Journalism competition today. This year, in accordance with state health COVID-19 regulations, the NSAA judged all entries as final and awarded medals to the top eight in each category. NPHS journalism members competed in 25 categories.

The NSAA said over 2600 entries were submitted for the journalism contest. In years past, students entered preliminary examples of their work, then competed in a live competition. According to journalism organizer Jennifer Schwartz, this is one of the state's longest-running contests. Medals, plaques and trophies will be mailed to schools next week.
