George Thomas 'Tom' Jeffers (1940-2020

George Thomas “Tom” Jeffers, 79 years of age, of Republican City, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the Harlan County Health System in Alma, Nebraska. 

Tom was born on September 15, 1940, at Indianola, Nebraska, one of four children and the eldest of three sons, born to Charles and Lula E. (Wing) Jeffers.  He moved with his family to Republican City, where he received his education from Republican City Public Schools, and later graduated from Republican City High School, with the class of 1958.

On July 23, 1958, Tom was inducted into the United States Navy.  He served as an Aviation Electronics Technician during the Vietnam War, and received the Good Conduct Medal.  He was honorably discharged on September 14, 1962. 

Tom enjoyed coin collecting, tinkering with his dart machines; but most of all he enjoyed having a few beers with his friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his sister, Linda.

Tom leaves to celebrate his life; his children:  Karen Graser and her husband, Jeff of Tucson, Arizona; and David Jeffers of Yuma, Arizona; two grandchildren:  Briana Graser and Joshua Graser and his wife, Lauren; two brothers:  Richard Jeffers and his wife, Kathy of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and Larry Jeffers and his wife, Terry of Chandler, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
