News Release

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (NPPD)-The North Platte Police Department would like to take a minute and discuss the relaxing guidelines concerning Governor Ricketts’ Directed Health Measure. The North Platte Police Department is aware of several upcoming events that are taking place in our community and we felt it was important to talk briefly about these guidelines. The North Platte Police Department fully supports citizens getting out and enjoying any activity they choose, but we would remind anyone doing so, to use precautions. We ask that you continue to abide by the guidelines set forth in the Directed Health Measure and keeping the following in mind:

  1. Practice good social distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. No more than 10 people in a group
  3. Practice good hygiene by washing hands frequently
  4. Wear masks if available

We have received complaints of DHM violations. We are working with business owners to educate them and direct the owners to the proper resources to help them understand how the DHM pertains to their business license.

The following website provides all of the information regarding the current Directed Health Measure and will provide any further updates from Governor Ricketts.

Again, we support the community getting out and enjoying themselves, but we also ask for voluntary compliance in following these guidelines. We need to come together as a community to overcome the challenges ahead of us.
