NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-As the restrictions and closures continue to roll on, food pantries and assistance organizations like the Salvation Army have seen a huge increase in need from community members.
Eagle Radio and the Schmidt Foundation teamed up with the Salvation Army to raise funds needed to meet the increased demand, with a matched donation of up to $5,000.
The community of North Platte not only met the expectations, they exceeded them, in true North Platte fashion.
On Thursday, Eagle Radio North Platte General Manager Lewys Carlini presented a check for $16,000 to Major Poff of the Salvation Army for their food pantry.
“This will feed lots and lots of people in our community,” said Major Poff. “It’s friends like Eagle who make our community a better place, through your kindness we are able to transform the hearts and lives of people in need.”
Eagle Radio, in conjunction with the Schmidt Foundation, now turns our attention to the Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center, with a matched donation of up to $5,000 to raise $10,000 or more.
