
Sharon Lee Thompson, 79, of North Platte, passed away May 27, 2020 at home. She was born December 5, 1940 to Andrew and Ruth (Amthauer) Jensen in Junction City, Kansas.
Sharon grew up in Kansas and moved to Iowa with her family when she was young. She moved to North Platte around 1960 and married Gilbert “Carl” Thompson on April 21, 1963. Sharon worked at Holiday Inn when her kids were small, then worked at Pawnee Hotel and North Platte Care Center.
Sharon will be remembered as a great mother, grandmother, and sister who had a big personality and always looked good. She enjoyed her little girl Coco and loved to dance and go for rides.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Curtis) Musgrove of Beloit, KS, Wes (Michelle) Thompson of North Platte, Gene (Chrissy) Thompson of York; grandchildren, Travis ( Hannah) Gartner of North Platte, Elizabeth Thompson of North Platte, Courtney (Kendrick) Coffin of Kent, Ohio; great grandchildren, Emma, Ashley, Brooklyn, Kaiah; sisters, Sherry Rueckert of Minnesota, Debra Dike of North Platte; special friend, Gary Lehl; step-children, Vernon Tomlinson of North Platte, Daniel (Kay) Tomlinson of Hershey, Herbert Tomlinson of York, Debbie (Kenny) Durrant of Nebraska City; numerous other step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, family members and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; granddaughter, Elizabeth; brother, Ronald Mitchell.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Harvest Christian Fellowship with Reverend Jeremy Rinke officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2020 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be held noon-5:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2020 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
