From Chase County Emergency Management
The first tornado warning for the area came Tuesday evening after a funnel cloud in Chase County prompted a tornado warning.
The first report of a small rope tornado came into Chase County dispatch from the Chase County Emergency Manager at around 3:55 p.m.
According to authorities, the funnel cloud was northwest of Champion. Officials say the funnel was short-lived and was gone by the time warnings were issued by the National Weather Service in North Platte.
