North Platte High School has resumed normal operations after a bomb threat prompted a full evacuation and law enforcement response Monday morning.

According to school officials, the incident began at 9:36 a.m. on March 23, when a threatening phone call led to the evacuation of students and staff to Bauer Field.

All students and staff were safely accounted for, and a controlled release by grade level began at 10:15 a.m. from the football field. Parents had initially been notified earlier in the morning as the situation unfolded.

The North Platte Police Department responded to the scene and conducted an extensive search of the school and surrounding property. Law enforcement remained on site throughout the day, utilizing multiple resources, including aerial surveillance, while conducting security sweeps.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., authorities completed a thorough search of the campus. Officials confirmed that no explosive devices or other security concerns were found.

“The building and property has been returned to the school district,” North Platte Police said in an update following the search.

Students were later allowed to return to campus to retrieve personal belongings and vehicles.

School officials said all district safety protocols were followed during the incident, and law enforcement and district administration worked together to ensure student safety throughout the response.

No additional information has been released about the source of the threat.
