Ramona A. Laird passed away, January 23, 2021, at Mosaic in Beatrice at the age of 54. Ramona was born December 9, 1966 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital in Gothenburg, Nebraska to John and Laraine Laird. Ramona resided in Cozad, Nebraska and was a client at South Central Development Center until 1978. She moved to the Martin Luther Home (now known as Mosaic) in Beatrice, NE in the summer of 1978, where she resided until her death. Ramona was loved and admired by those who came in contact with her. It was often stated that “she had a smile that could melt your heart”.
Ramona was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ross and Nancy Laird and Vern and Wilda White; mother, Laraine (White) Cullers; her great-aunts, Lola Johnson and Alice Applegate; her great-uncle, Wendell Applegate; her aunt, Beverly Boyd; and her uncle, Bill Laird.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, John and Bobbi Laird of Cozad, NE; her step-father, Vern Cullers of Sun City, AZ; brother, Todd (Pamella) Laird of Manhattan, KS; step-sisters, Lea Ann (Ron) Stephenson of Lincoln, NE and Melisa (Eric) Raastad of Lincoln, NE; her great uncle, Johnny Johnson, of Lexington, NE; her uncle Gordon Boyd of Big Timber, MT; her aunts Donna Laird of Cozad, NE and Verla (Jay) Ringenburg of Lincoln, NE; and numerous other uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as her Mosaic family in Beatrice.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad, Nebraska. Inurnment will follow at Cozad Cemetery.
