Merril Morris age 66, of Danbury passed away peacefully at “the farm” on August 6, 2021.  He was born on October 13, 1954, to Howard and Ardith (White) Morris. Merril continued his education and graduated from Holbrook High School.  Following high school, Merril began working at Mitten’s Truck Stop in Oakley, KS, where he met the love of his life, Rene’ Brungardt.  The were united in marriage on May 22, 1976.  They had just celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary.  Merril and Rene’ had three children: Shauna, Eric and Brent.  He was the best Dad and Papa that anyone could ask for.
Merril began working for the Sauvage Gas Company in 1982, where he continued working until that day he passed.  Merril farmed ground in both Nebraska and Kansas.  He was one of the hardest workers you would have ever meet and he would not hesitate to help out anyone.  Merril was an honest, hard-working man who loved his family dearly.  When wasn’t in the field you could find Merril hunting, working in his garden, cooking his chicken and noodle soup, or spending time driving around the pastures enjoying his family time on the farm.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law: Kenneth and Berniece Brungardt; 3 brothers-in-law: Mike, Gary, and Brian Bungardt.
Merril is survived by his wife: Rene’ of Danbury; daughter: Shauna and husband Mike Petzold of Kearney; 2 sons: Eric and fiancé Kim of McCook; Brent and wife Meghan of Jackson, TN; 4 grandchildren: Kacie Schwaderer, Sofie Schwaderer, Allison Priddy, and Cole Morris; half-brother: Larry Morris and his dogs: Husker, Maddie and Mia.
