The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, January 26, at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Lincoln County Courthouse.
Commissioners will begin the meeting with approval of minutes from their January 20 meeting, followed by a public comment period.
Among the action items scheduled for consideration are approval of claims and treasurer’s receipts, setting the 2026 Lincoln County mileage reimbursement rate at 72.5 cents per mile effective January 26, and adoption of Resolution No. 2026-05 opposing LB 1072. The board is also expected to receive and file a fee report submitted by the Lincoln County Sheriff.
At 9:15 a.m., the board will recess as commissioners and convene as the Lincoln County Board of Equalization. Items on that agenda include approval of minutes from the January 20 Equalization meeting, public comment, certificates of correction and refunds submitted by the county assessor, and a motor vehicle tax exemption application submitted by the county treasurer.
The board will then reconvene as the Board of Commissioners for several scheduled presentations and discussions. At 9:25 a.m., commissioners will recognize county employees for years of service, including Merit Newman for 25 years and Brian Anderson for five years.
At 9:30 a.m., Trudy Merritt with the West Central Nebraska District Health Department will provide an update on the Lincoln County wellness program, with commissioners discussing Year 2 of the program.
Additional agenda items include setting a date for the One- and Six-Year Road Plan public hearing, the annual report from the Lincoln, Logan, and McPherson Counties Extension Office, and a quarterly report from Region 51 Emergency Management.
Commissioners may enter closed session if necessary to discuss pending or imminent litigation, real estate matters, security deployment, or personnel evaluations. The meeting will also include time for concerns from elected officials, department heads, or their representatives, along with committee reports.
The meeting will be livestreamed on the county’s YouTube channel.
