Last night the Paxton Tigers (6-9) played host to three other area teams in a small volleyball tournament, Wauneta-Palisade, Wallace and Potter-Dix. They took on a very good Wauneta-Palisade (8-5) team and pushed them to the limit in the championship match before Wauneta-Palisade pulled away in the third set.
Paxton claimed 2nd place in the tournament while Wallace comes in third and Potter-Dix in 4th.
Paxton beat Wallace in the first round 2-0 (25-21, 25-13). Wauneta-Palisade would top Potter-Dix 2-0 in their first-round (25-15, 25-20).
In the consolation round, Wallace beats Potter-Dix 2-0 (25-12, 25-19)
The championship went three sets with Wauneta-Palisade eventually coming out on top 2-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-19)
