UPDATE: 3:18pm - From Lincoln County Emergency Management- Those who have been evacuated on the old Highway 83 Fire. Evacuation has been lifted, State Farm Road has been opened and the fire is contained at this time.

North Platte, Ne - Lincoln County Emergency Management asked residents from State Farm Road between Newberry and Shack Roads to evacuate around 2:30pm Monday afternoon due to large grass fire just south of that area in the canyon areas. Multiple crop dusters were seen dropping water on hot spots along with multiple fire agency's assisting in the battle of this blaze that was pushing closer towards State Farm road and near Interstate 80 east of North Platte.

The Salvation Army is open to those that need a place to go.
