The North Platte Natural Resources District is pleased to report this year's successful implementation of the Nitrogen Incentive and Reduction Act Program (NiRA). The District received 25 applications, enrolling 2,647 acres and awarding over $30,000 in funds. Most of the enrolled land is intended for corn planting this spring.
Letters of acceptance were sent earlier this week to participating producers and landowners. Due to the program’s success, there are plans to expand funding next year, creating even greater opportunities for landowners to adopt sustainable agricultural practices.
