Victor Eugene "Vic" Sterup, 73, of North Platte, passed away March 2, 2023 at home.  Vic was born December 27, 1949 in Osceola, Nebraska to Eugene and Mary (Word) Sterup.  The oldest of six children, he graduated from Osceola High School and the University of Nebraska.

He was united in marriage to Becky Young on May 27, 1972 in Farragut, IA.  This union was blessed with three children, Aaron, Amanda and Adam.  He was employed by the Nebraska State Patrol as a drug chemist in Lincoln and then North Platte, where he worked until he retired.  He also served in the Army Reserves for 13 years and was a member of the TKE Fraternity at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.   Vic enjoyed fishing and hunting and playing volleyball and slow pitch softball.  Many hours were spent at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.  He enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren.

Preceding Vic in death were his parents, Eugene and Mary, sister Karen Johnson, and his in-laws Howard and Zoe Young.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Becky; children Aaron (Amy) Sterup of North Bend, Amanda (Scott) Jedrzejczyk and Adam (Jordan) Sterup, both of North Platte; grandchildren Lauren and Drew Sterup of North Bend and Natalie, Addison and Hadlee Sterup of North Platte; brothers Steve (Bonnie) Sterup of Lincoln, Mike (Linda) Sterup of Queen Creek, AZ, Bill (Evelyn) Sterup of Lincoln; sister Malia (Don) Fritz of Licking, MO; sister-in-law Barb (Gaylen) Lundgren of Shenandoah, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Baldwin officiating.  Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday, March 6 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
