
Thelma Jane Gilbert, age 78, of North Platte died August 4, 2021 at
her home surrounded by her family.
Thelma was born
on April 27, 1943 in North Platte to Benjamin C. and Mable E.
(Lindenmuth) Little.
Thelma attended
North Platte Public Schools and married Larry Gilbert June 3, 1959.
She met many people throughout her careers, was a very hard worker,
and was always very goal-oriented. Thelma enjoyed playing games
especially gin and Yahtzee, where she was always the winner- teaching
her family how to be “gracious losers”! She would win at all
costs! Thelma loved making peanut brittle at Christmas time, enjoyed
early morning conversations with her family while drinking a whole
pot of coffee, and loved her grandbabies immensely. She was always
known as “Grammy” by Bryce.
Survivors include
her daughters, Susan (Gordon) Duval of Wellfleet, and Selena (Tim)
Gaudreault of Cozad; son, Stan (Brenda) Gilbert of Kearney; 13
grandkids; 32 great-grandkids; 8 great-great-grandkids; brother,
Bryon (Kimi) Little of Lincoln: sister, Sylvia Barnett of North
Platte: brothers-in-law, Rod Mills, Rich (Peggy) Gilbert, Tim (Jody)
Gilbert, and Frank Gilbert; sisters-in-law, Georgia Little of North
Platte, Sue Little of North Platte, Wanda Howard, and Kathy (Ron)
Picklapp; special cousin, Bobbie (Tommy) Fisher of Hershey; and many
nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in
death were her parents; husband; son, Stephen; daughter, Sonya;
brothers, Bud, Jerry, Dennis, Joe, and Roy; sister, Linda,
father-in-law, Leland Gilbert; mother-in-law, Lucea Kramer;
brothers-in-law, Jimmy Gilbert and George Souhrada; and
sisters-in-law, Shirley Mills, Mary Souhrada, and Boots Little.
Memorials are
suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Online

Services will be
held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Adams & Swanson
Funeral Home with Caroline Valenzuela officiating. Burial will
follow in the North Platte City Cemetery. Visitation will be held
noon until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at Adams & Swanson
Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
