NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, Sept. 22, at the Lincoln County Courthouse for a series of meetings, including a public budget hearing and regular agenda items ranging from land use to tax requests.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. with the board’s regular meeting, opening with prayer and approval of minutes from last week. Commissioners will also review claims and treasurer’s receipts, consider a resolution ratifying the county’s cash-in-lieu benefit amount, and decide on a right-of-way permit submitted by Dawson Public Power District.

At 9:15 a.m., the board will briefly recess as the Board of Commissioners and convene as the Board of Equalization to consider minutes from the Sept. 15 meeting and certificates of correction and refund from the County Assessor.

At 9:30 a.m., commissioners will take up an application from Timothy and Tracy Fuqua for the proposed Fuqua Subdivision, located at 21477 South Highway 83 in an A-1 Agricultural District. The land involved is part of the northwest quarter of Section 9, Township 11 North, Range 30 West.

Budget discussions will take center stage beginning at 9:45 a.m., when the board will hold a 2025–2026 budget work session.

At 11 a.m., a formal public hearing will give residents an opportunity to comment on the proposed county budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Following the hearing, commissioners are expected to consider three key budget-related resolutions: adopting the 2025–2026 fiscal year budget, setting the final property tax request at a different amount than last year, and approving the official budget message.

The board has also reserved time for concerns from elected officials, department heads, and committee reports. As with all meetings, commissioners may enter closed session if needed to discuss litigation strategy, real estate purchases, security matters, or personnel evaluations.

Residents may attend the meetings in person at the courthouse or watch live online through the county’s YouTube channel.
