Reed Waylon Benner, 40, of North Platte, NE, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Great Plains Hospital in North Platte.
Reed was born on July 29, 1981 in Ogallala, NE, son of Vicky L. (Strong) Gayman.
Reed graduated from North Platte High School class of 2000. He loved Nebraska and Michigan College football. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving him are his mother, Vicky Gayman and step-father, Dale Gayman of North Platte; daughter, Aubree Leann Smith; sister, Nicole L. Broxson (Kevin) of FL; niece, Paige Cardwell; nephew, Tyler Broxson; paternal grandparents, Robert and Charlotte Benner of Mullen; aunts, Patty Wolfenden (Lonnie) of Mullen and Debra Bodeman (Rick) of Ogallala; and many good friends.
He was pre-deceased by maternal grandparents, Verna “Mae” and Haley Mell; and aunt, Vicky Hansen.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anne Durboraw officiating. Private burial will be at a later date at Ogallala Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 20th from 1-6 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. The family suggests casual attire may be worn, along with Husker and Michigan attire are encouraged in honor of Reed.
