
Gayle Lynn Beran, 62, of North Platte, NE passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Great Plains Health Hospital.
Gayle was born on June 15, 1960 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Gary and Katherine (Teeters) Reed.
Gayle attended Norris High School and graduated from Hershey High School, class of 1978. She married David V. Beran on July 19, 1997 at Hershey United Methodist Church. She worked for over 20 years as a manager at Starting Gate Liquors in North Platte and worked for various bars throughout the area as a bartender. She was a past president of the Department of NE VFW Auxiliary and held multiple positions in the local VFW Auxiliary over the years. She enjoyed bowling, coaching girls’ softball, and was an avid Husker and Denver Bronco fan. Gayle loved planting flowers especially tiger lilies and yellow roses, was a country music fan, and enjoyed cooking for large crowds. She enjoyed spending time on her front porch watching cardinals, and her pets, especially her labs and Rottweiler mixes. Gayle was known for being stubborn and opinionated and would not back down in an argument. Most of all she was proud of all her children and their accomplishments. She was an adopted “Mom” to many of her children’s friends and was known by everyone as “Mom”. She will missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, David; sons, Trevor Stringham of North Platte, and Kyle (Shawna) Stringham of Broken Bow; daughter, Katrina (Wyatt) Naber of Hershey; grandchildren, Alexandria, Victoria, Izabella, and Logan Stringham, Kaylynn Wheeler, Kynzlee Perkins, and Cash Naber; brother, Kevin (Darcie) Reed of Hartwell; sister, Kim Reed of Minden; nephew, Nolan Reed; and niece, Arabella Reed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Ashley Perkins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery, near Maxwell. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17th at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
